Two new models are in the image list: GPT Image 2.5 Flare and GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst.

Parameters and pricing are identical; only speed and positioning differ. Reach for Sunburst when retouching or chasing fine detail, and Flare for everything else.
Five refinement tiers
Low → Medium → High → Ultra → Max
The tier decides how much compute goes into the image. The panel shows the exact credit cost before you run it.
"High" on 2.5 and "High" on GPT Image 2 are not the same thing — each generation splits its tiers by its own compute. For the best 2.5 output, pick Max.
Transparent backgrounds
The parameter panel now has a Background control: Auto / Opaque / Transparent.
Pick Transparent and you get a PNG with a real alpha channel — everything outside the subject is genuinely transparent, not white. That removes a cutout step for product shots, stickers and asset pieces.
The control appears only on GPT Image 2.5; no other image model here has it.
Up to 16 reference images
Double GPT Image 2's eight. More room for character consistency, multi-image blends and style references. Both variants edit with references — just connect images to the generation node on the canvas.
Reference images count toward the price (the upstream bills per reference), and the number in the panel tracks the count live.
Sizes and aspect ratios
1K / 2K / 4K offer almost the same set of ratios: 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, 3:2, 2:3, 16:9, 9:16 and 21:9 are available at every tier, and 2K additionally offers 9:21. The ratio you choose is the ratio you get.
Prompts can run to 32,000 characters.
Where to use it
Add an image node on the canvas and pick GPT Image 2.5 Flare or Sunburst in the model selector. The CLI and MCP server are in sync too, so you can call it straight from Claude or Cursor.

4K gains a square option, and 4K pricing goes up
4K can now render 2880×2880 — the largest square the upstream allows; one step larger exceeds its pixel ceiling. 1K and 4K also gained 21:9.
4K pricing is derived from the most expensive size the tier can produce, and the square costs more compute than the previous maximum of 2880×2160. So 4K pricing goes up across the board (1K and 2K are unchanged):

Update (2026-09-16): Medium is now 5 Xins, down from 6. The discount our upstream gives us is passed straight through to you — already live, nothing to set.
The panel shows the exact cost for the shot before you run it. If you don't need 4K, nothing about 1K or 2K pricing changed.
