Two new models are in the Recommended section of the image model list: GPT Image 2.6 Flare and GPT Image 2.6 Sunburst.
Which one to pick

Their still-image settings and prices are identical, so the choice comes down to speed or detail, not budget.
How to use it
- Create an image node and choose GPT Image 2.6 Flare or Sunburst.
- Write your prompt. To edit an image, connect it as a reference. You can connect up to 16.
- Choose refinement, size and aspect ratio, then generate. The panel shows the Xin cost before you run it.
Sizes are 1K, 2K and 4K. Aspect ratios are 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, 3:2, 2:3, 16:9, 9:16 and 21:9, or Auto. Prompts can run to 32,000 characters.
Transparent backgrounds
Set Background to Transparent in the panel and everything outside the subject is genuinely transparent. That saves a cutout step on stickers and product shots.
Make it move
Flare's Output setting defaults to Still image. Switch it to GIF to make a looping animation.
- Frames: 8 or 16
- Speed: fast, medium or slow, with no effect on price
- Reference images: up to 4
- Size: Up to 512×512 square
To animate an image you just made, connect it to a Flare node, switch to GIF, and describe what moves and how it loops.
GPT Image 2.6 GIF now lives in Flare's Output setting. Your existing GIF nodes keep working and show as Flare + GIF.

Each reference image adds 2 Xins, on stills and GIFs.
Where you can save:
- At 1K, High costs only 1 Xin more than Medium, so it is worth a try before you finish.
- Max costs almost 4x High. Find the idea on a lower tier, then move up.
- For quick drafts, GPT Image 2.5 Flare is still in Recommended, at 1 Xin for 1K Low.
GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst has moved to Other in the model list. How it works and what it costs have not changed.
Who can use it
Available to accounts that have topped up or bought a plan.
CLI and MCP
After upgrading to 0.1.47, the model ids are gpt-image-2-6-flare and gpt-image-2-6-sunburst. Use --output-quality for refinement. GIF keeps gpt-image-2-6-gif, so existing calls need no changes.
