Image nodes have a new model: GPT Image 2.6 GIF. Write a line, or connect a reference image, and get a looping GIF directly, with no video step and no format conversion.
How to use it
- Create an image node and choose GPT Image 2.6 GIF.
- Write your prompt and say what moves and how it loops, for example "a small fox running in place, seamless loop, the camera does not move".
- Choose frames and speed in the settings, then generate.
What you can adjust
- Frames: 8 or 16. More frames give smoother motion. The price is shown in the panel.
- Speed: fast, medium or slow. This only changes playback and does not affect the price.
- Reference images: up to 4. To animate an existing character, connect its image and describe the motion in your prompt.
Output is a 512×512 square.
On the canvas
The node stays still until you select or hover over it, just like a video node. Single and batch downloads both give you the GIF. When you connect it to another node as a reference, the first frame is used.
GIFs you upload now work the same way: they play on the node and download as the original animation.
Who can use it
Available to accounts that have topped up or bought a plan.
It also works from the CLI and MCP after upgrading to 0.1.46. The model id is gpt-image-2-6-gif. Use --size 8F or --size 16F for frames and --gif-speed for speed.
